Chavolo’s serves authentic Mexican food in uptown Pagosa. This is a popular Mexican restaurant in the area with great reviews. Try the Chile Verde or Chile Colorado for something unique from their menu. Don’t miss the salsa bar, and if you’re so inclined, try one of their margaritas. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Kips Grill & Cantina

Kips is famous in southwest Colorado for their tacos and is the best spot in Pagosa for tacos. They also have burgers, including an elk burger. The patio is popular in the summer months. Plus sometimes you can catch live music outside. Make sure to try the Chile Verde Con Queso! They are located downtown and are open for lunch and dinner.

And yet another Mexican restaurant located in uptown. Ramon’s extensive menu has all of your favorite Mexican classics. Their chili con queso isn’t your standard cheese dip. Give it a try for something different. They are open for lunch and dinner and have a large dining area that can accommodate larger parties.

Tequilas

One of the best views of the San Juan River in dowtown. Watch the rafters and tubers navigate the rapids. You’ll also have a view of the hot springs on the other side of the river.

Pagosa Brewing Co & Grill (Now Closed)

Pagosa Brewing is the first brewery in Pagosa Springs. They have a great selection of beer, and a great root beer for the kids. Their signature dish is the salmon fish and chips. They are located uptown and are open for lunch and dinner.

Riff Raff Brewing

The original Riff Raff location is in the middle of downtown in a classic Victorian building. The burgers are great. Try the yak or lamb burger for something different. The beer brined eggs are a favorite. They are open for lunch and dinner.

Riff Raff on the Rio

This is the second Riff Raff location in town and also houses the brewing operations. It is located on the east side of town and has outdoor seating right on the bank of the San Juan river. Note that the menu is different from the original location. Share several of the appetizers for dinner with friends. They are also open for lunch and dinner.

Tall Pines Beer and Wine Garden (Now Closed)

Tall Pines is exactly what they say, a beer and wine garden, however they do serve food. The view of the east range from here is fantastic, especially if you are fortunate enough to catch the alpenglow at sunset. Live music can be heard here almost every weekend and some weekdays. There is a large dance floor surrounded by comfortable seating. If dancing isn’t your thing play a game of mini golf. The menu features several appetizers, wraps and flatbread pizzas. Tall Pines is open for dinner and is located between uptown and downtown (mid-town perhaps?).

Ole Miners Steak and Chophouse (Now Closed)

Ole Miners is located 5 minutes east of town but well worth the short drive. The ambiance here is fantastic with a cozy log cabin/mining feel. As the name suggests, they offer a wide range of steaks. Also on the menu are lamb chops, seafood and an amazing vegetarian option. They are only open for dinner. Reservations are suggested.

The Buck Stops Here

Originally a meat and seafood market, The Buck Stops has expanded to a full service restaurant. They offer great sandwiches and burgers, but you can also choose anything from the case to have prepared in house. They serve lunch and dinner and are located uptown.

City Hall Bar and Grill

Definitely large portions here, and the food is great. Entrees include several chicken and seafood options as well as steaks. The pasta dishes won’t disappoint. The only table that can be reserved is the “gondola” They have turned an old ski gondola into an intimate table for 2-4. City Hall serves lunch and dinner and is located just east of uptown.

Cafe Colorado

Cafe Colorado describes their food as classic home-style cooking. Open for both breakfast and lunch. A favorite of both locals and visitors. If you’re a breakfast person, you need to give them a try. Cafe Colorado is located uptown near Wyndham.

Colorado Roadhouse is known for their big burgers, but they also offer other sandwiches, salads and a few entrees. Try the cheese curd appetizer. They are located uptown and are open for both lunch and dinner.

Coyote Moon Bar and Grill

The menu here consists of mostly burgers, but there are a few steak entrees as well. Check out the daily specials which have included salmon picatta, coq au vin, chicken pot pie and a fantastic chicken parmesan. Tuesday taco night is a local favorite! It’s a great spot for watching football, playing pool and taking in some live music. Coyote Moon is located just north of highway 160 on Piedra Road. They open at 3pm.

The Den Restaurant and Sports Bar

The only sports bar in town. Their menu consists of burgers, wings and brick oven fired pizza. The Den is located downtown next to Natural Grocers and is open for both lunch and dinner.

Lone Spur is one of a few small chain restaurants in Pagosa. They describe their menu as “cowboy food” which loosely translates to home-style with a western influence. Lone Spur Cafe is open daily for breakfast and lunch. They are only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. They are located in the City Market shopping center.
