Horse Drawn Adventures is a Pagosa Springs Colorado company which offers horse drawn sleigh and wagon rides. During the winter the horses will pull a sleigh, and in the summertime the horses, instead, pull a wagon. Both options follow a winding track around the property and provide wonderful views of Pagosa’s mountain landscape.

Horse Drawn Adventures is located next to Elk Trace Bed & Breakfast which is just north of town off of Piedra Road. Providing great views of the San Juan Mountains, the private property is a perfect location for a horse drawn sleigh or wagon ride for anyone.

Horse Drawn Adventures’ Sleigh Ride Details

The typical sleigh or wagon ride lasts about 45 minutes and meanders around the property. Each ride can accommodate up to 8 adults. Private rides can be arranged on request, but you’ll need to reach out to Horse Drawn Adventures to schedule.

As mentioned previously, rides are available year round. When snow is on the ground during the wintertime the sleigh will be used. During summertime and when there isn’t enough snow on the ground in the winter, the wagon will be used.

Blankets are provided to keep you comfortable and warm during rides in the cooler weather. This is especially nice for those wintertime rides when the temperatures dip below freezing. With the abundance of sunshine in Pagosa, you may not even need a blanket, but rest assured that Horse Drawn Adventures will ensure your comfort.

Stunning Scenery of the Pagosa Peak and East Range

If riding on a horse drawn sleigh through the snow isn’t amazing enough, the scenery from the ride adds to the entire experience. The ride will meander along a track through a peaceful, quiet tract of land that provides impressive views of the north San Juan Mountains, Pagosa Peak, and even the East Range. The views are second to none, and everyone will be impressed with them!

Before and After your Sleigh Ride

Upon arriving at Horse Drawn Adventures, you will be greeted by your driver and team of horses. Enjoy a cup of hot cocoa or cider around the fire pit while you complete your paperwork. This is a great way to keep warm before heading out on the ride. If necessary, the barn provides for protection against any of the elements.

Before departing on your ride, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and pet the horses, Wilbur and Bill. They are beautiful animals and are fun to interact with before heading out. Kids will enjoy the experience.

Your ride ends at the same location where you began, and gives you the opportunity to head over to the fire pit to warm up, if needed. Enjoy another cup of cocoa or cider while you chat about your ride.
