PLPOA Kayak Registration
In order to not get fined by the Property Owners Association any type of boat requires registration with the PLPOA for the following lakes: Hatcher Reservoir, Lake Forest, Village Lake and Lake Pagosa. Follow the instructions here. Kayaks are classified as a boat. The first kayak will cost $10 and subsequent kayaks cost $5 for a full year of access to the above mentioned lakes. The registration sticker must be fastened to the kayak.
Kayaking Hatcher Reservoir
Hatcher is a great lake to kayak on for fishing. The shape of the lake is an oval and offers kayakers no more than simple kayaking around the edge. However, fishing is good on Hatcher and if you are an angling kayaker, than this lake is a good option.
Kayaking Lake Pagosa
Lake Pagosa is one of the largest lakes in town, and offers great views of the San Juan Mountains including Pagosa Peak. Houses line the lake with people enjoying summer activities.
