From tree lightings and parades to ski joring, live music, and New Year’s fireworks over the San Juan River, there’s something for everyone between now and early March. December Pagosa Springs Winter 2025 Events – Holiday Magic Kicks Off

All December – Holiday Lights Tour Downtown Pagosa Springs | Starts at 6:00 pm One of Pagosa’s favorite traditions! The lighted parade winds through downtown. Holiday Lights Tour will be on everyday from November 28th through December 31st between 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

December 13 – Holiday Market Pagosa High School | 10:00 am–4:00 pm Local artisans, handmade gifts, baked goods, and plenty of holiday cheer under one roof. Great place to knock out your shopping list while supporting our mountain makers. (Confirmed as the 2025 Holiday Market benefiting Pagosa Community Initiative)

December 20 Ugly Sweaty Sweater 5k Walk/Run 2025 – Uncle’s Bar & Social Club – Grab your ugliest holiday sweater, lace up your running shoes, and bring your family, friends, and pups for a festive 5K like no other! This family- and dog-friendly run/walk takes you on a gentle loop along bike paths and paved roads, circling back to Uncle’s. It’s the perfect course for every fitness level. 10am. After-Run Party! The fun doesn’t stop at the finish line — join us back at Uncle’s for music, a hot chocolate bar, s’mores, snacks, and plenty of cozy mountain-town cheer.

January 2026 Pagosa Winter Events – Full-On Winter Mode

January 17–19 – WinterFest & Ski Joring Downtown Pagosa Springs & Archuleta County Fairgrounds | Multi-day schedule Pagosa’s premier winter extravaganza! Kick off Friday with a bonfire, live music, Battle of the Soups, and local food vendors. Saturday and Sunday feature hot air balloon glows, the Penguin Plunge into the San Juan River, cross-country ski races, sledding on Reservoir Hill, and the adrenaline-pumping Skijor Pagosa races—where horses pull skiers and snowboarders down Hot Springs Boulevard at break-neck speeds, hitting jumps and grabbing rings. Add a chili cook-off and outhouse races for the wildest weekend of the year. (Pro tip: Plungers get free hot springs soaks!)

Every Weekend – Full Moon Snowshoe Tours Hosted by local outfitters like Pagosa Adventure Company or Wilderness Journeys Strap on snowshoes and hike under the full moon to secret overlooks with hot toddies waiting at the turnaround point. Key dates: January 13, February 11, and March 13.

February 2026 Winter Events – Romance & Snow

February 14–15 – Valentine’s Weekend Events Various downtown spots, The Springs Resort, and more Get cozy with a Chocolate & Wine Walk through downtown merchants, couples’ geothermal soaks + dinner specials at The Springs Resort, Alley House Grille, and Riff Raff Brewing, and the Fire & Ice Ball at the Community Center (live band, dancing, and a legendary dessert bar).
